'Did not stop bike, opened fire': How Atiq Ahmed's son was killed in police encounter | Ground report

Asad, the son of jailed mafia don Atiq Ahmed, was killed in an encounter near Jhansi with the Uttar Pradesh Police on Wednesday. Asad, along with an accomplice named Ghulam, was in cross-fire after he opened fire on cops, the UP Police said. According to the information gathered from the ground, Asad and Ghulam were on a bike when the police asked them to stop for routine checking. They did not stop and started firing on the police. The STF team fired back at them and the two were killed in the ensuing gunfire. Firearms were recovered from the spot.
