ED quizzes Ashok Gehlot's son Vaibhav's business partner

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s son Vaibhav Gehlot’s business partner Ratan Kant Sharma is under the scanner of the Enforcement Directorate (ED). Sharma had received around Rs 96.7 crores from Mauritius. Sharma and Vaibhav are business partners and the ED had summoned him a few days back. The probe agency suspects large scale overseas transactions. It maintains that there is no connection with IT searches.

Earlier, the residence of a close aide of Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot was raided by the Income Tax sleuths. The I-T department conducted raids at the residence of Rajiv Arora, owner of a jewellery firm, in connection with tax evasion case. The searches have been carried out at over two dozen locations in Delhi and Rajasthan.

It comes at a time when the Congress seems to be in a deep crisis in Rajasthan since Sachin Pilot openly issued a rebellious note claiming the support of 30 MLAs and some Independents. The statement issued from Pilot's office on Sunday night mentioned, "Rajasthan Deputy CM and Congress leader Sachin Pilot not to attend Congress Legislative Party meeting scheduled to be held tomorrow.
