Farmers' protest enters 9th day as talks with Centre fail to end standoff

The number of protesting farmers swelled at Delhi border points as police stepped up security after thousands blocked key gateways into the national capital for the ninth day.

Another round of talks between the protesting farmers and the central government will be held on Saturday as the marathon talk on Thursday failed to end the standoff between the two over the new farm laws.

The protesting farmers on Wednesday had threatened to block other roads of Delhi in the coming days if the new agriculture laws are not scrapped soon.
