The protesting farmers took to social media to quell rumours about their agitation and counter anti-famers sentiment on the internet.

Aided by tech-savvy youth, the farmers want to stay in control of the narrative. Called Naxals, Khalistanis and even terrorists online and off it, and questioned about the generous traditions of volunteering, the protestors and their supporters have been using social media to put forward their viewpoint.

TVK leader C Joseph Vijay on Sunday took oath as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu amid a sea of supporters, his friends and family, and several political leaders. Eight other TVK leaders were sworn in besides him, as ministers in the new government. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also attended the ceremony.
