Flood situation grim in Hyderabad, Telangana CM announces immediate financial help

The flood situation in parts of Telangana and Karnataka remained grim on Monday. 97 villages are still submerged in Kalaburagi, Vijayapura, Yadgir and Raichur districts of North Karnataka and more than 35,000 people have been evacuated, according to officials on Monday. Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC) officials said the 97 villages in the four districts are worst affected and people residing there have been shifted to safety.

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday announced Rs 10,000 as immediate relief to each flood-affected household in the city, besides assistance of Rs 1 lakh each to totally damaged houses and Rs 50,000 to partially damaged houses.
