Asked to pay for biryani, customers thrash waiter with stick, chairs in MP's Shahdol

Four men unabatedly thrashed a restaurant waiter allegedly after being asked for a bill in Madhya Pradesh’s Shahdol on April 16.

Prakash Raj, who works at Raza Hyderabadi Hotel in Shahdol, was beaten by four men, identified as Ankit, Anurag, Babu and Yash.

When Prakash approached the accused for the bill for the biryani he served, they began hitting him, saying, “They don’t give money but instead take it”.

In the video, the four can be seen smacking the waiter with anything they could lay their hands on, including chairs and a stick. The entire episode was captured on a CCTV camera installed in the hotel.

Later, the waiter filed a complaint with a police station, and the four accused were arrested under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Video: PM Modi hugs, touches feet of 98-year-old BJP veteran in Bengal

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday hugged and honoured 98-year-old Makhanlal Sarkar, one of the earliest and senior most members of the BJP. The scene unfolded on the stage ahead of Suvendu Adhikari's swearing-in as West Bengal's Chief Minister in Kolkata. PM Modi also touched Sarkar's feet and presented a shawl to him as a mark of respect. In 1952, Sarkar was arrested in Kashmir while he was accompanying Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee as the latter was marching to hoist the tricolour there. BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya described the elderly party leader as "one of the earliest grassroots figures associated with the nationalist movement in post-Independence India."
