Grand swagat: Rafale jets get water salute at Ambala airbase, watch

Watch as 5 Rafale jets get water salute after their landing at the Ambala airbase today. It's a part of the ceremonial welcome accorded to new jets.

Earlier, announcing the arrival of the Rafales, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said, "The birds have landed safely in Ambala. The touchdown of Rafale combat aircraft in India marks the beginning of a new era in our military history."

The fleet of five jets comprises three single-seater and two twin-seater aircraft.

The jets will be inducted into the IAF as part of its No 17 Squadron, also known as the 'Golden Arrows'.

The jets are capable of carrying a range of potent weapons.
