Hathras probe: 5 family members of victim going to Lucknow today

Hathras case will now be probed by India's apex investigative body, the CBI. The Central Bureau of Investigation was on Saturday directed to take over the probe into a 19-year-old Dalit girl's alleged gangrape and subsequent death. A resident of Boolgarhi village in Uttar Pradesh's Hathras, the girl died at Delhi's Safdarjung hospital on September 29.

The Uttar Pradesh government led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had recommended a CBI probe into the Hathras case. A letter was also sent in this regard to the central government.
