Is new motor law enough to check underage driving?

A pavement dweller was killed and three others were injured after they were run over by a car allegedly driven by a class XII student.

 

The car had three occupants, all class XII students of Commerce stream of Delhi Public School, Mathura Road. The accused driver, Samarth Chugh, who turned 18 last month, has been arrested and sent to judicial custody till May 4.

 

A new motor vehicles act which is much tougher has been put in place, but is it enough to check underage driving in the country.

Video: Vijay takes oath as Tamil Nadu CM amid loud cheers and chants

TVK leader C Joseph Vijay on Sunday took oath as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu amid a sea of supporters, his friends and family, and several political leaders. Eight other TVK leaders were sworn in besides him, as ministers in the new government. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also attended the ceremony.
