Navy inducts MH-60R squadron 'Ospreys' to counter Chinese submarines

In a major boost to India's maritime security, the Indian Navy has commissioned INAS 335 'Ospreys', its second squadron of MH-60R 'Romeo' multirole helicopters, at INS Hansa in Goa. Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral Dinesh Tripathi, presided over the ceremony. Commanding Officer, Captain Dhirendra Bisht, described the new squadron as the 'eyes, ears and first hunters of the fleet,' emphasising their critical role in anti-submarine warfare (ASW) and surveillance in the Indian Ocean Region.
