On Friday, a mob of around 10-12 men allegedly assaulted two Kashmiri youths studying at the Central University of Haryana, Mahendergarh.
At around 2:30 pm, Aftab and Amjad were returning to campus after Friday prayers when they were beaten up by the mob. According to students, they were leaving the mosque when a group of men started following them. Shocked and confused by the sudden attack, the students looked around for help but people just stood there and watched.
"Me and my friend had gone to the mosque to offer namaz yesterday. Just after we left the mosque and were heading towards are bike, we were assaulted by a mob. We asked them why were we being targeted but they didn't say anything and just kept hitting us. We asked people for help but nobody intervened. It's shameful how everyone just stood there and watched while the mob attacked us with bricks and helmets," Aftab told India Today.
