Kanyakumari: Drunk husband brutally assaults pregnant wife, burns her to death

A heart-wrenching incident has been reported from Tamil Nadu's Kanyakumari, where a 4-month pregnant woman was brutally assaulted and burnt to death by her husband.
Shalini, from Alangudi, got married to Seeman from Marthandam on May 22, 2017. Her family had reportedly given Rs 7 lakh as dowry to Seeman's family. However, things weren't going well for Shalini post marriage.
On Sunday morning, in a fit of rage, Seeman attacked Shalini with a kitchen grinder. She fell down after the brutal attack. Seeman pulled her towards the kitchen, opened the gas and set her on fire.

The TVK managed to secure the Governor's nod to form the government after the Congress, the CPI, the CPI(M), the VCK, and IUML extended their support to the Vijay-led party for a colaition government.
