K'taka trade body announces bandh on June 22; DMK leader sparks controversy with remark against TN Guv Ravi; more

The Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) has appealed to all establishments in the state to shut down their operations on June 22 in protest against the hike in electricity charges by Electricity Supply Corporation. It said that for the past eight days it has made attempts to convey the seriousness of the impact of the hike but there has been no solution to the issue from the officials or government representatives. 

Meanwhile, a controversy erupted in Tamil Nadu after DMK spokesperson Shivaji Krishnamoorthy spoke in a derogatory manner against Governor RN Ravi. Criticising the governor for allegedly refusing to transfer DMK leader Senthil Balaji's portfolios to two other ministers, Krishnamoorthy said, "We allocated the portfolios to two other ministers. The governor said this was wrong...If you were originally born to your mother, you should have stuck to what you have said but you changed it."
