Parliament security breach: Intruders, yellow smoke, scenes of chaos

On December 13, the Lok Sabha, India's lower house of Parliament, experienced a significant security breach when two individuals jumped from the public gallery into the chamber during the Winter Session.
The intruders, carrying tear gas canisters, released yellow smoke and were seen climbing over desks while chanting slogans. MPs and security personnel quickly detained them.
Concurrently, outside the Parliament, two protestors were also detained for using similar yellow smoke.
The incident coincided with the anniversary of the 2001 Parliament attack, heightening its sensitivity. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla ordered an investigation, and the Delhi Police's anti-terror unit was involved in questioning the detainees.
Four arrests were made, with one more individual under scrutiny. The breach led to the adjournment of the house and sparked concerns over parliamentary security protocols.

PM Modi also touched Sarkar's feet and presented a shawl to him as a mark of respect. In 1952, Sarkar was arrested in Kashmir while he was accompanying Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee as the latter was marching to hoist the tricolour there. BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya described the elderly party leader as "one of the earliest grassroots figures associated with the nationalist movement in post-Independence India."
