Maharashtra logjam: Sonia Gandhi gives in-principle approval for alliance with Shiv Sena

Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Wednesday gave in-principle approval for an alliance with Shiv Sena to form a government in Maharashtra, according to sources. The decision was taken during Sonia Gandhi's meeting with NCP chief Sharad Pawar.

Meanwhile, Congress and NCP leaders will meet at Sharad Pawar's residence in New Delhi this evening to discuss the common minimum programme and portfolio distribution.

TVK leader C Joseph Vijay on Sunday took oath as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu amid a sea of supporters, his friends and family, and several political leaders.
