'Aiyyo, aiyyo': Watch Nirmala Sitharaman at her candid best in Parliament

On February 9, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman addressed the Lok Sabha during the Budget session with a blend of gravitas and light-heartedness.

Despite her self-confessed struggle with Hindi, which she speaks with a sense of 'sankoch' or hesitation, Sitharaman delivered her speech in the language, engaging the members of the House with her candid admission that her Hindi might be "a little entertaining." 

Sitharaman presented a 'White Paper' that contrasted the economic mismanagement of the past with the current government's efforts to elevate India's economy to one of the top five in the world.
