Opposition moves no-confidence motion against Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla

The Opposition has submitted a notice of no-confidence against Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, citing the repeated denial of opportunities for Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi to speak. The notice highlights persistent disruptions, the suspension of Opposition members, and alleged 'selective action' by the Chair. Opposition leaders also raised objections regarding the lack of action against BJP MP Nishikant Dubey for controversial remarks concerning women MPs.

Meanwhile, BJP women MPs have sought action against Opposition members for a February 4th incident where they allegedly gheraoed the Prime Minister's Chair. Another speaker expressed gratitude towards the Prime Minister for handling a tense situation with 'great patience,' preventing the matter from escalating further.
