PM Modi Lays Foundation for ₹11,000 Cr Fertilizer Plant in Assam, Targets 12 Lakh MT Output

Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for a ₹11,000 crore fertilizer plant in Namrup, Assam. Addressing a rally in Dibrugarh, PM Modi stated, 'This fertilizer project will produce over 12 lakh metric tonnes of fertilizer annually.' He highlighted that India's urea production increased from 225 lakh metric tonnes in 2014 to 306 lakh metric tonnes under his government. The Prime Minister criticized the Congress for neglecting the North East and allowing factories to close, contrasting it with the BJP's revival of plants in Gorakhpur, Sindri, and Barauni.
