Bengal post-poll violence: DGP confirms two deaths, urges people to maintain calm
The Director General of Police in West Bengal has confirmed two deaths related to post-election violence since the election results were announced.
The army has filed a counter FIR in the Shopian firing case. The FIR was filed the very next day after the stone-pelting incident in Shopian. The army in its FIR says the army vehicles were damaged and soldiers injured.
The northern army commander said the firing in Shopian was done in self defence.
Javaid Ahmad and Suhail Ahmad were killed in the army firing when a stone pelting mob attacked an administrative convoy of 10 Garhwal unit.
