Tension continues to simmer in Munger, protesters set ablaze vehicles

Days after Durga idol immersion ceremony turned violent in Bihar's Munger district, the town continues to remain on the boil.

Fuming over the killing of an 18-year-old during the idol immersion, protesters set ablaze vehicles and vandalised a police post. Meanwhile, police have conducted a flag march to allay simmering tensions.

Earlier in the day, EC had ordered immediate removal of SP Lipi Singh and Munger's DM Rajesh Meena and ordered a inquiry into the incident.
