Tirumala Ghee Fraud: Probe Reveals Palm Oil, Chemicals in Sacred Laddus

This special report details the investigation into the Tirumala ghee adulteration scandal, implicating the previous YSRCP government. Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh has strongly criticised former Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy and former TTD chairmen YV Subba Reddy and Bhumana Karunakar Reddy. Nara Lokesh stated it was an 'unforgivable sin which was committed by Jaganmohan Reddy and his uncles, YV Subba Reddy and Karunaka Reddy'. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe, supervised by the CBI, has revealed that a company named Bhole Baba Dairy supplied 68 lakh kilograms of spurious ghee worth ₹250 crore to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) between 2019 and 2024. The investigation found the ghee was adulterated with palm oil and harmful chemicals. The SIT has arrested a Delhi-based trader, Ajay Kumar Sugand, for allegedly supplying chemicals to the company.
