TMC MP Saugata Roy Caught Smoking In Parliament Complex, Confronted By Union Ministers

In a major controversy during the Winter Session, Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Saugata Roy was caught smoking inside the Parliament complex. The senior leader was seen smoking outside the Makar Dwar, prompting a confrontation with Union Ministers Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and Giriraj Singh, who warned him about public health risks. Defiant, Roy retorted, 'Smoking inside a house is prohibited. Smoking outside a house is not prohibited.' The issue was raised in the Lok Sabha by BJP MP Anurag Thakur, who questioned if e-cigarettes were allowed despite the ban. Speaker Om Birla assured action if rules were violated.
