Unnao rape survivor's accident: UP govt requests Centre for CBI probe

In another development in Unnao rape survivor's accident case, the Uttar Pradesh government has sent a formal request to the Centre, requesting for the case to be handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). This comes after jailed BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar, who faces charges of Gangrape, was booked for criminal conspiracy, murder, and Intimidation.

The Unnao rape survivor was on her way to Raebareli on Sunday with two of her aunts and her lawyer when a truck rammed into the vehicle they were travelling in. The two aunts succumbed to their injuries while Unnao rape victim and her lawyer are undergoing treatment and are said to be critical.
