On Wednesday, the Yamuna River in Delhi reached a height of 207.55 meters, surpassing its previous record of 207.49 meters set in 1978. This significant rise in water levels has raised concerns about potential flooding in the capital.
According to an official, the river is expected to continue rising. In light of this situation, the Delhi Police took precautionary measures by implementing section 144 CrPC in flood-prone areas across the city.
Remarkably, within a span of just 18 hours, the water level escalated from 203.14 meters at 11 am on Sunday to 205.4 meters at 5 pm on Monday, surpassing the danger mark of 205.33 meters much earlier than anticipated.
