WATCH: PM Modi lands in Delhi after concluding his visit to UAE, France

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at the Palam Airport in Delhi after concluding his visit to United Arab Emirates (UAE) and France.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi landed in Abu Dhabi earlier on Saturday (July 15) for a one-day visit and met UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. PM Modi was accorded a ceremonial welcome at the Qasr-Al-Watan - the presidential palace - where he was greeted by the UAE President with a warm embrace. Children were seen waving the Indian tricolour as the Prime Minister inspected the guard of honour.

The prime minister deemed his two-day visit to France a "memorable one". PM Modi joined President Emmanuel Macron for the French National Day celebrations as the Guest of Honour at the Bastille Day Parade in Paris on Friday (July 14). The diplomatic visit witnessed an exchange of gifts between both sides.

TVK leader C Joseph Vijay on Sunday took oath as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu amid a sea of supporters, his friends and family, and several political leaders. Eight other TVK leaders were sworn in besides him, as ministers in the new government. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also attended the ceremony. The TVK managed to secure the Governor's nod to form the government after the Congress, the CPI, the CPI(M), the VCK, and IUML extended their support to the Vijay-led party for a colaition government.
