Yearender 2014: 10 fashion trends that left a mark on this year

Oxblood
Every trendy lady ensured that she incorporated this color in her wardrobe be it in the form of sultry lips, a crisp oxblood skirt or accessories. The colour was seen everywhere and on everyone. While Aditi Rao Hydari dons an oxblood pant suit, Deepika chose to use the hue on her lips.

Pant suits
Chic pant suits in pop colours were in full flow. It kept the stars looking sharp and effortlessly stylish at the same time.

Palazzos
Besides regular tops, Indians extended these lowers to complement their kurtas too. Thanks to palazzos, Pakistani pyjamas and even shararas came back in the limelight. Undoubtedly, we can also give some credit to Zindagi channel and Fawad Khan for popularising the Pakistani salwars. 

Crop tops
A throwback to the 90s when celebs flaunted hip bones and navels, crop tops returned this year in a rather classy manner with just a hint of midriff peeking through. Priyanka Chopra does seem to be in a mood to channel the 90s.

Cut outs
The midriff baring crop tops gave way to stealthily placed cut outs. These oozed sexy without being on your face.

Ear cuffs
A fashionista's bijoux box was incomplete without this bold accessory. From diamond encrusted delicate ones to rather goth looking winged ones, ear wraps or ear cuffs appealed to everyone.

Full Skirts
2014 paved way for some gorgeous full skirts with the tea length seeing a great rise in popularity. Huma Qureshi was seen working hers in a monochromatic manner.

Lace
While lace has been in since 2013, it extended it's stay in 2014 in the form of lace skirts, gowns and lace saris. Regular tops with delicate lace trims also stood out. Sonam Kapoor was recently seen flaunting a beaded black lace Elie Saab creation.

Mesh
A big trend of the year, mesh is a fun way to add texture to your outfit without looking out of place.

Monochrome
The timeless appeal attached to monochrome never lets it go out of fashion. Lots of experimentation was noticed in terms of prints, textures and silhouettes. Sonam Kapoor creates an eclectic mix of mesh, glitter and prints for her look.
