Yearender 2014: Fashion trends we hope to see in 2015

By the time 2015 enters our lives, we all would have grown out of peplums (some folks are still wearing this), ugly sandals, mullet skirts and the likewise. The coming year promises to give way to flowing silhouettes, greater usage of leather, a cascade of florals and graphic sweatshirts. People will continue to show their love for sheer, crop tops and androgynous pant suits from 2014.

Sheer

Uncovered yet covered, sheer is here to stay. With Archana Rao layering her brilliant skirts and shirts over dresses for Frou Frou, sheer helps you to work texture into your look and add dimension. While layering sheer over shorts or pants has been doing the rounds for some time, layering sheer over dresses might be the next big step.

Floral

A great thing about florals is that it can be worked in countless ways as the need of the hour be. Maybe more of your personal style than need of the hour but florals are timeless and lend an elegant appeal to any garment. Also irrespective of the weather, you can always channel spring with florals. In his previous collection, Rohit Bal worked bright red roses into black and white outfits with equal grace.

Leather

Leather skirts, leather pants and leather leggings....simply put, leather is everywhere.  Recently celebs have been spotted pairing their leather leggings with simple tops and it just adds so much oomph to their look.

Pantsuits

Seen on multiple Bollywood starlets in 2014, the pantsuit allows one to experiment with the androgynous look in a rather safe manner. With Anushka donning this yellow Sneha Arora creation during PK promotions, pant suits won't be limited to the category of boring office wear.

Crop Tops

A hint of midriff peeking through, the reign of crop tops won't be ending anytime soon. A crop top is a safe choice for those not serious about skin show. You are lucky if you saved yours from 2014 because your crop tops are ready to take another round of beating in 2015.

Graphic Sweatshirts

The sweatshirt with a big S, 2015 will hopefully turn out to be the time we bid adieu to boring frayed sweatshirts. To be concessional, sweatshirts with frayed hems might still work but those with boring patterns will be thrown out. Garments that allow you to express your personality are going to be highly sought after.
