Delhi commuters advised to avoid Mathura Road stretch near Apollo Hospital today
Delhi Traffic Police warns of heavy traffic on Mathura Road from Badarpur towards Apollo Hospital on May 13 due to an online exam at TCS Mathura Road. Commuters are advised to use alternate routes and keep extra travel time.

Delhi commuters travelling via Mathura Road on May 13 may face long delays, especially in the stretch from Badarpur towards Apollo Hospital. According to the Delhi Traffic Police, traffic movement is likely to stay affected between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM because of an online examination being conducted at A-27, TCS Mathura Road, in two shifts.
A large number of candidates are expected to reach the exam centre through the day, which could increase congestion on one of South Delhi’s busiest roads.
People travelling towards Apollo Hospital, Sarita Vihar and nearby areas are advised to plan their journey in advance and keep extra travel time in hand.
ALTERNATE ROUTES ADVISED
To avoid traffic jams on Mathura Road, Delhi Traffic Police has suggested alternate routes for commuters. Vehicles moving from the Badarpur side towards Apollo Hospital can use the carriageway from Mumbai Expressway towards Road No. 13 and MB Road instead.
The advisory comes as thousands of candidates are expected to appear for the online examination at the TCS iON centre located on Mathura Road near Mohan Cooperative Industrial Estate. The area regularly sees heavy traffic during peak office and exam hours.
TRAFFIC LIKELY THROUGHOUT THE DAY
Unlike short traffic restrictions seen during VIP movement, this advisory remains active for almost the entire day. Traffic pressure may increase during reporting and exit timings of both exam shifts.
The Delhi Traffic Police said:
“Traffic may remain affected on Mathura Road in the carriageway from Badarpur towards Apollo Hospital, due to an online examination being conducted at A-27, TCS Mathura road in two shifts between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM.”
Daily office-goers, hospital visitors and commuters heading towards Faridabad or South Delhi are likely to face slower movement in nearby stretches as well.
COMMUTERS ADVISED TO PLAN AHEAD
Authorities have advised people to avoid the affected stretch if possible and use Metro services or alternate roads to save time. Those travelling during peak morning and evening hours should leave earlier than usual.
Mathura Road remains one of Delhi-NCR’s busiest corridors and often witnesses congestion during large events, examinations and diversions.
