A stay dog leads a police posse: comfortable living
In the dusty, forlorn dacoit-infested ravines of Yamuna in Uttar Pradesh, even dogs - man's best friends - must abide by the Darwinian dictum: survival of the fittest. The two trained police dogs that were despatched to Kanpur and Jalaun districts last fortnight may not fall in this category, but their lesser cousins - stray dogs - who live here are certainly made of sterner stuff. Stray dogs in the entire 84 sq km dacoit territory are few and far in between.
