Akshay Kumar's Bhooth Bangla pushed amid Dhurandhar craze, set for paid previews
Akshay Kumar's Bhooth Bangla has been postponed, with paid previews scheduled a day earlier. The decision comes amid Dhurandhar: The Revenge's strong box office run and screen dominance.

The release date of actor Akshay Kumar's horror-comedy film Bhooth Bangla has been postponed from April 10. Paid previews for the movie will start on April 16 at 9 PM, ahead of its general release the following day.
The decision comes amid the strong box office performance of Dhurandhar: The Revenge, which has been enjoying exceptional success and dominating theatre screens across the country. The makers of Dhurandhar had organised paid previews before its release, a strategy that contributed to its robust run.
Why the release was pushed
Producer Ektaa Kapoor, in an official statement, explained that the decision to delay the release by one week came after extensive discussions and multiple requests from distribution partners and exhibitors in key markets. She said that this move aims to provide a better cinematic experience for audiences and allow the film to have a strong run in theatres.
The statement highlighted that the film Dhurandhar: The Revenge is currently enjoying exceptional box office success. The exhibitors felt that giving Dhurandhar 2 a clear and uninterrupted screening window would benefit the industry ecosystem.
"By moving Bhooth Bangla ahead by a week, we are ensuring that both films get the theatrical space, marketing focus, and audience attention they truly deserve! We believe this approach benefits everyone - the filmmakers, the exhibitors, and most importantly, the audiences who get to experience each film without compromise," the statement continued.
She further emphasised that the comfort of theatre-going audiences remains a priority and that the team aims to entertain viewers in the best possible way through their films.
India Today had earlier indicated that the makers were considering shifting the release date of Bhooth Bangla due to the dominance of Dhurandhar 2 at theatres, which limited available screens.
