Dhurandhar 2 Box Office Highlights: Ranveer film becomes North America's highest grosser

Anupam Kher reacted to the success of Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar: The Revenge. He also spoke about a section of viewers calling the film a "propaganda." 

Kher, whle speaking at the International Film Festival Delhi (IFFD) 2026, said, "I think we should ignore people who are calling cinema propaganda. We are putting too much energy into them. They are redundant and irrelevant. Let's celebrate the success of The Kashmir Files and Dhurandhar. People are not idiots. They are not going to attend a 12 o'clock show that is housefull unless they genuinely like the film. People go to watch films because they enjoy them. I think we should say rest in peace to those who are calling it propaganda."

Actor Arjun Rampal got emotional over the success of director Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar: The Revenge. He recalled his journey by sharing a reel showing behind-the-scenes photos from his acting career.

While sharing the reel on his Instagram handle, he wrote, "From playing cowboys as kids, to landing my first film #moksha to #Dhurandhar I am blessed to have been with everyone who was part of the journey. Actor Vivek Sinha opened up on portraying a terrorist in director Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar: The Revenge. He also recalled a social media reaction over his portrayal of hijacker Zahoor Mistry in the film.

Sinha, in an interview with PTI, said, "A few days ago, I receive a message on Instagram where someone said that I should be ashamed that I accepted the role in the film for a few bucks. A lady wrote to me how I spoke about Hindus in such a manner being a Hindu myself. I thought should I reply to her or should I leave? Then I thought why not? Let me make my point and let it reach her. So I left her a voice note."

"Now, if in a film- which is a mirror to society- we show how characters behave. So in a situation where a dangerous terrorist from Pakistan has entered India without caring about his life. If we want to portray such a character in a film, who is threatening at gunpoint, and if we have to show his way of thinking, how he says that Hindus are cowards. So when we have to show that character, should we call a terrorist from Pakistan to shoot the film? We only have to do it no? So that we understand what he is trying to say, so that we can show to what extent he can go being so cruel. If someone is murdering in a film, should we call real murderers from jail to act? So I sent that in voice note and she has not replied yet," he added. 

Director Priyadarshan has said that actor Ranveer Singh's spy thriller Dhurandhar will be remembered like Sholay. He said that Aditya will be remembered like "makers of Sholay."

Priyadarshan, in an interview with Hindustan Times said, "That revolution he created is historic. Now he can sleep. He will be remembered like (the makers of) Sholay."

Actor Danish Pandor has reacted to his football scene in the espionage thriller, Dhurandhar: The Revenge. He also shared his concerns about the scene.

Danish, in an interview with Zoom, said, "The censor board chopped off 25 to 30 seconds of that scene. When I read the script, I was excited about doing it. In the history of Indian cinema, we haven’t come across this scene. It was a big opportunity as an actor. At the same time, I was cautious about how people are going to perceive it. I had to make it convincing and relatable so that it doesn’t look like I was doing it for the heck of it. There had to be certain emotions, backing to it. Thankfully, I proved it right. I did not disappoint the director and the audience. Somewhere I felt I have justified that scene. A lot of people love that moment."

Singer Malini Awarsthi shared her prediction about the sequel to Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar: The Revenge. She interpreted an alternate theory regarding the plot of a possible third instalment.

While speaking about the film on her X handle, Awasthi wrote, "I have a feeling Aditya Dhar will make Dhurandhar 3, this time the location could be Canada. Hamza has already sent his wife and kids to Vancouver, and has returned back as Jaskeerath! Story of players sitting in Canada needs to be told! Punjab deserves Master director @AdityaDharFilms (sic)."

Director Priyadarshan has said that Aditya Dhar broke the theory of Bollywood with Dhurandhar: The Revenge. He praised the film while congratulating Aditya over the success of the film.

Priyadarshan, in an interview with Hindustan Times, said, "I loved the film. He (Aditya) broke the complete theory of Bollywood and Indian cinema. People said films should be shot this way and that way. He broke everything and succeeded."

Danish Iqbal reacted to the success of Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar: The Revenge. Expressing his happiness, he called the film, "a true celebration."

Danish, in an inteview with Firstpost said, "I am enjoying every single moment right now. Dhurandhar is not just a film—it’s a jashn, a true celebration. I am genuinely happy for all of us. I hope and believe that the industry recognises the talent within me, and that I continue to receive roles that are both meaningful and challenging."

Actor Bimal Oberoi, who played the fierce Shirani in The Revenge, opened up about Ranveer Singh's relentless on-set energy. Speaking with ETimes, he said, "Subconsciously, he was always Hamza. He never got out of character. That doesn't mean he was angry on the sets.

He added, "That’s why you can see what’s happening – how far acting can go. Not just 360 degrees, he’s delivered a 720-degree performance. He has enacted it so brilliantly."

Calling Singh "a senior person" on set, he also shared that Ranveer would often help with offering the best advice. 

In a fresh post on X, filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has questioned the film industry over its silence on Dhurandhar 2's success. "Now that @AdityaDharFilms has EXPLODED a ATOMIC BOMB right under the film industry, what is shocking is the loud silence from the rest of the film industry (sic)," his post read.

Vetri Maaran stirred conversation at the trailer launch of Neelira, a Tamil film rooted in the Sri Lankan civil war, as he called out what he termed “hate propaganda” in cinema - remarks that many online linked to Aditya Dhar and Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar franchise.

Backing Neelira for steering clear of hate-driven narratives, he said, “Until we tell our stories, our life is what our enemies say they are. We do not have the democracy to tell our own stories.” He also lauded Rana Daggubati for backing the film.

Touching upon censorship, he made a quip about the film clearing the Central Board of Film Certification without heading to the revising committee, before adding, “Today, everything is turning into propaganda, and propaganda has the power to influence memory.”

“Memory is so fickle because we all know who was the most affected by demonetisation and how many lives were lost when people stood in lines. But we can easily change its impact. So, what can we do against hate propaganda? We have to continue making films like these and keep the memory alive,” he said.

Actor Abhay Arora, who played Yasir in the film, recently opened up about witnessing Ranveer Singh’s commitment first-hand. While filming the action-packed project, the actor made consistent efforts to be present for his wife, Deepika Padukone, who was expecting their first child at the time.

Speaking about the actor’s routine, he said, "Ranveer would try his best to get days off between shooting, even if it was just three or four days, so he could fly back to his wife and take care of his family. The way Ranveer takes care of his family is wonderful."

In a post on X, Agnihotri revealed that he travelled from the countryside of California to Los Angeles to watch the film. “Shabash. Bravo. Brilliant once again, Aditya Dhar. I genuinely don’t know what to say… anything I add may only become noise over something that already speaks for itself,” he wrote.

It has raked in over $22 million (Rs 205 crore) across the region, comfortably moving past the record set nearly a decade ago by Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, which had earned upwards of $20 million (Rs 186 crore).
