Amitabh Bachchan's bungalows Jalsa, Janak sanitised by BMC after actor tests coronavirus positive

Amitabh Bachchan tested positive for the novel coronavirus on Saturday evening. The actor's son, Abhishek Bachchan also tested positive and the father-son duo is admitted to Nanavati Hospital, Mumbai. All four bungalows owned by Bachchan, Jalsa, Pratiksha,Janak and Vatsa, have been declared as Covid-19 restricted areas by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

BMC also sanitised the bungalows and inspections were carried out. Notices declaring the bungalows as containment zones have also been put up at the front gate.

A medical team was also deployed at all the four bungalows and the staff of the bungalows were screened. Also, about 30 employees have been inspected and tested. All the proceedings are being carried out as per the prescribed procedure. The details of the individuals who contacted Bachchan's family and the concerned staff are being compiled. The individuals who came in contact with the family are also instructed to remain segregated.

The Jalsa bungalow has ample space to allow segregation. Necessary help will be provided by the municipality for the same.

Meanwhile, earlier today, Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai issued a statement updating his fans about the actor's health. The statement read, "Mr Amitabh Bachchan is stable with mild symptoms and is currently admitted in the isolation unit at Nanavati Super Speciality Hospital, Mumbai. He has confirmed that he will keep updating via Twitter."

Big B shared the news of his diagnosis via Twitter, asking all those who had come in close contact with him to also get tested for their own safety. "I have tested Covid positive. Shifted to Hospital. Family and staff undergone tests, results awaited. All that have been in close proximity to me in the last 10 days are requested to please get themselves tested," Bachchan wrote.

Abhishek Bachchan also shared the news on Twitter, late Saturday night. He wrote, "Earlier today both my father and I tested positive for Covid 19. Both of us having mild symptoms have been admitted to hospital. We have informed all the required authorities and our family and staff are all being tested. I request all to stay calm and not panic. Thank you."
