Divya Dutta reflects on Rekha-like love and the art of knowing when to let go
What does it mean to feel deeply and still choose to walk away? Divya Dutta shares a thoughtful take on love and detachment, commenting on the kind of love that actor Rekha often expresses.

On a recent podcast, actor Divya Dutta spoke about women's expression of love, responding to a question about whether she had ever experienced the kind of intense love often associated with veteran actor Rekha.
YouTuber Shubhankar Mishra, on his podcast, referred to Rekha as someone who has never shied away from expressing her love and admiration for megastar Amitabh Bachchan. He cited instances such as her jumping with joy at an award show when Bachchan won a trophy, and her warm gesture towards his grandson, Agastya Nanda, during the screening of his debut film Ikkis.
"Is intensity par kabhi aap nahi gaye? Ki koi nahi hai phir bhi hai (Have you ever felt this kind of intensity - that someone exists, even when they are not there?)," he asked Divya.
Without naming Rekha or commenting directly on her way of expressing love, the Chiraiyaa actor suggested that one should let go of a relationship when it has no future or destiny.
She said, "Mujhe lagta hai intensity hui bhi ho toh use phir chhod dena padta hai (I feel that even if that kind of intensity happens, you eventually have to let it go). Women, especially, are very emotional. Detach karna bahot mushkil hota hai aur jab breakup hota hai (Detaching is very difficult, and when a breakup happens)... I think usey phir chhod dena chahiye."
She then summed up her thoughts with a famous couplet by Sahir Ludhianvi: "Vo kya kehte hain... 'Voh afsaana jise anjaam tak le jana na ho mumkin, usey ek khoobsurat mod de kar chhod dena chahiye (That which cannot be taken to its destined end should be given a beautiful turn - and then let go),'" she said.
Divya was promoting her latest show Chiraiyaa on the podcast. The series, streaming on ZEE5, features her as a homemaker who learns and unlearns patriarchy, while also confronting marital rape.
