Junaid Khan on Aamir Khan-Reena Dutta split, bond with Kiran Rao, Gauri Spratt
Junaid Khan reflected on Aamir Khan and Reena Dutta's divorce, saying his parents always stayed united when it came to their children. He also shared details about his close equation with Kiran Rao and Gauri Spratt.

Junaid Khan has opened up about his parents Aamir Khan and Reena Dutta separating when he was young, saying they handled parenting with maturity despite their divorce.
The actor also spoke about his warm bond with Aamir’s former wife Kiran Rao and current partner Gauri Spratt, calling both of them “lovely” people.
Speaking to Vickey Lalwani, Junaid said about Gauri, “Gauri is lovely, she is very sweet. I am genuinely really happy for him. I am not sure how long it was before he revealed it to the media. Eventually, it’s a personal relationship, and it will remain that way."
Talking about Kiran Rao, he shared, “Yeah. Not tough at all. She is a lovely person, very sweet and warm. We always got along great. There were no apprehensions from our side at all. I think all the adults in this situation were behaving like adults, so it was very busy for us kids."
Junaid also revealed that he addresses Gauri by her first name, while Kiran was “Kiran aunty” for many years before she asked him, around the time he was 15 or 16, to call her by her name instead. He added that the entire family continues to live within a 100-metre distance of each other.
Reflecting on his parents’ separation, Junaid said he was too young to fully understand what was happening at the time. “I must have been 7-8 years old, so obviously I didn’t see it coming. But another thing, mom and dad have always been on the same page with us. The first time I ever even knew that they could disagree on something was when I was 19."
The actor further recalled an incident from when he was 19 that made him realise his parents could disagree like any other couple.
Junaid shared that after an argument between Aamir and Reena, his father had asked his age, following which his mother remarked that he was now old enough to understand that they would not always agree on everything.
Despite that moment, he said his parents always remained united when it came to their children. Junaid added that most conversations involved both of them together, something that still continues occasionally even today.
Reflecting on their separation and approach to parenting, Junaid said his parents handled the situation with maturity.
He added that "two good people are not necessarily always good together" and felt it was better to have two happy parents living separately than unhappy parents staying together.
On the work front, Junaid was recently seen opposite Sai Pallavi in Ek Din, which released in cinemas on May 1.
Reports suggest he may next star alongside Tamannaah Bhatia in Ragini MMS 3, backed by Ektaa Kapoor.
