Mouni Roy makes Cannes red carpet debut, friend Disha Patani cheers her on
Actor Mouni Roy made her Cannes red carpet debut in a white gown. Her appearance drew attention online, with her friend Disha Patani praising her look on social media.

Actor Mouni Roy made her Cannes red carpet debut on Thursday and later shared pictures from the event on Instagram. Soon after the post went up, her friend and actor Disha Patani praised her look online.
Mouni's appearance at Cannes came as part of her visit to the French Riviera for the showcase of her upcoming film Bombay Stories at the Marche du Film.
Red carpet look
For her red carpet appearance, Mouni wore a strapless gown by Caroline's Couture. She paired the outfit with jewellery from Chopard, including a diamond floral necklace. She also wore a diamond watch and statement rings.
Disha Patani's reaction
Soon after the post went up, her friend and actor Disha Patani commented, writing, “Beautiful (heart emoji).”
Mouni's first French Rivera look
The actor had earlier shared pictures from the French Riviera as well. In those pictures, she was seen in a monochrome look. She wore a black mini dress with a white halter-style collar detail. She paired it with an oversized black coat draped over her shoulders, along with sheer black stockings and pointed leather boots.
At Cannes for Bombay Stories
Mouni attended this year's Cannes Film Festival for the showcase of Bombay Stories at the Marche du Film. Actor Anupria Goenka also joined her at the event.
Directed by Rahhat Shah Kazmi, the independent film is inspired by Hatak, one of Saadat Hasan Manto's best-known short stories. The film looks at the lives of sex workers through a satirical and humane lens. Apart from Mouni and Anupria, the film also stars Sushmita Singh in a key role. With its presentation at Cannes' Marche du Film, the makers are looking to introduce the project to international audiences and the global film market.
Personal update
Mouni's Cannes appearance came days after she and husband Suraj Nambiar announced their separation after four years of marriage. In a joint statement shared on Instagram on May 14, they asked for privacy and urged people not to spread false narratives about their relationship. The statement also asked fans and media organisations to respect their privacy during this period.
