Preity Zinta reacts to being called Punjab Kings' trophy: Women are not owned
Preity Zinta reacted to being called a "trophy" during an interaction on X, saying that women should not be compared to possessions. She also spoke about her upcoming film Lahore 1947 and shared why she chose to sign the project.

Preity Zinta recently addressed a comment that referred to her as a “trophy” during an interaction on X while celebrating Punjab Kings’ impressive run in the Indian Premier League. The actor strongly reacted to the remark and explained why such comparisons do not sit well with her.
During the interactive Q&A session, Preity responded with a mix of honesty and humour. She said, “Thank you, that’s very sweet, but honestly speaking, no woman wants to be a trophy. Trophies are owned, women are not! Trophies are kept in glass cupboards and a woman’s place is in your life and in your heart (sic).”
Her response quickly caught attention online, with many users praising her for her straightforward take on the issue.
During the same interaction, Preity also spoke about her upcoming film Lahore 1947. Talking about why she chose the project, she said, “I always wanted to do a period film, that’s why I signed Lahore 1947, and of course, it’s with one of my favourite directors, Raj Kumar Santoshi, and Sunny is always a pleasure to work with (sic).”
She further shared that the film explores “a story of love in times of division and hate,” which drew her to the project.
On the work front, Preity is set to make her Bollywood comeback with Lahore 1947, directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and produced under Aamir Khan’s banner. The film, which also stars Sunny Deol, was officially announced in October 2023 and is slated for release this year.
