Factcheck: Tabu upset with Akshay, Priyadarshan for edited role in Bhooth Bangla?
Bhooth Bangla director Priyadarshan has cleared the air over reports that Tabu was displeased with him and lead actor Akshay Kumar for alleged edits in her role. Read here what he said.

Filmmaker Priyadarshan addressed ongoing speculation surrounding actor Tabu and her role in the new horror comedy, Bhooth Bangla. He firmly denied reports that suggested she was unhappy with edits made to her character.
There had been buzz claiming that Tabu was reportedly upset with co-star Akshay Kumar and the director after portions of her role were allegedly trimmed in the film. Responding to the rumours, Priyadarshan dismissed them as unfounded.
"I don't know why and who is spreading this negative news. I am the director of Bhooth Bangla, and I decide what to keep and what not to. The film is a big success, but yet, some are trying to spread negativity," he told Pinkvilla.
He further clarified that Tabu was not upset, noting that he has collaborated with her on eight films and would have known if there were any issues. He added that she is happy and that everything she shot for remains part of the film.
Some reports had also suggested that Tabu’s portions were reduced at Akshay Kumar’s request to increase his own screen time. The director, however, strongly refuted the claims.
"Also, Akshay didn't ask me to edit any part; he never does. I do my work with honesty, and every actor comes and sees the film before the release. Whoever is spreading such rumours should be ashamed," he said.
Priyadarshan and Tabu share a long professional association, having previously collaborated on films such as Kaalapani (1996), Virasat (1997), Hera Pheri (2000), and Snegithiye (2000).
Bhooth Bangla marks Priyadarshan’s reunion with Akshay Kumar after a gap of 14 years. The film features an ensemble cast including Tabu, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Wamiqa Gabbi, and late actor Asrani.
The project is backed by Akshay Kumar along with producers Shobha Kapoor and Ektaa Kapoor.
