Actor Salman Khan has said that he has never read a script in his entire career. The actor, who recently made a cameo appearance in Riteish Deshmukh's Marathi film Raja Shivaji, made the revelation in a promo from an interview that was unveiled on Friday.
I have never read a script: Salman Khan's unique process
In an interview with Variety India, Salman said he had "never read a script" in his life, adding, "I've written them, but I've never read them." In the past, he has indicated that he prefers to understand a film's overall feel, treatment and commercial appeal instead of reading a script from start to finish.
The promo also showed Salman responding to the discussion around the expensive watches he is frequently spotted wearing. Addressing the matter in Hindi, he said that just because he is seen wearing watches does not mean they are his, adding that one may belong to one friend and another to someone else. Over the years, he has often attracted attention for high-end timepieces, with several reportedly priced at over Rs 1 crore.
Salman Khan's upcoming projects
Salman will be seen next in Maatrubhumi, a film that appears to be going through a major overhaul. Until March, the project was titled Battle of Galwan and was reportedly inspired by the real-life clash between Indian and Chinese forces in the Galwan Valley. It has since taken a different direction, with the title changed, references to China and the Galwan Valley removed, and extensive reshoots said to be underway.
Produced by Salma Khan under the Salman Khan Films banner and directed by Apoorva Lakhia, Maatrubhumi features Salman as an Indian Army Colonel alongside Chitrangda Singh. No release date has been announced so far.
Salman has also locked Eid 2027 for his upcoming film with Nayanthara. The untitled project, currently referred to as SVC63, will be directed by Telugu filmmaker, Vamshi Paidipally.
The actor recently earned praise for portraying Jiva Mahala in Raja Shivaji. The film features Riteish Deshmukh in titular role apart from Genelia Deshmukh, Sanjay Dutt, Abhishek Bachchan, Vidya Balan and others.
