Sonakshi Sinha shared a behind-the-scene video, recalling the time when Saroj Khan gave her Rs 101 for her brilliant performance.
Saroj Khan breathed her last today, after suffering a cardiac arrest. She was 71 years old. The veteran choreographer worked with many A-listers of Bollywood.
Today, many of them took to social media to recall their fond memories with Saroj Khan. Sonakshi Sinha shared a behind-the-scene video from her 2012 film Rowdy Rathore. In the video, we see Sonakshi rehearsing for the film's song Chamak Challo Chel Chabeli, while Saroj instructs her from behind the camera.
After missing steps a few times, Sonakshi finally gets it right by the end of the video. We then see Saroj Khan giving Rs 101 to Sonakshi.
The Dabangg actress captioned the video as, "Love you Master ji. 23 years old, so new, Just into my second film, working with you, a taskmaster, a perfectionist, a LEGEND... was the last time i was ever nervous working with anyone. That 101 rupiye ki kharchi you gave me, and the words you told my mother “yeh ladki mera naam roshan karegi” gave me enough confidence to last a lifetime. Hope you are smiling wherever you are, and i hope i continue to make you proud! Rest in peace (sic)."
Janhvi Kapoor also remembered Saroj Khan. She wrote, "Can’t thank my stars enough for getting the chance to learn from you. I always cherished every moment I spent in the class room with you but now even more. You are truly special, truly a legend for what you’ve given our cinema through your dance. We’ll miss you Sarojji (sic)."
Saroj Khan was laid to rest at Malad cemetery in Mumbai.
