Vidhu Vinod Chopra confirms sequels for 3 Idiots, Munna Bhai: I'm writing both
Celebrated filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra has confirmed the development of sequels for 3 Idiots and Munna Bhai.
Veteran filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra has revealed that sequels to two of his most beloved films, 3 Idiots and Munna Bhai, are officially in development. Speaking to Dainik Bhaskar, Chopra confirmed that he is currently penning scripts for 2 Idiots and Munna Bhai 3, along with several other ambitious projects.
“I am writing both 2 Idiots and Munna Bhai 3. On top of that, I am trying to make a film for kids. The film’s title hasn’t been decided yet. I am also writing a horror comedy, and it is very interesting,” Chopra said.
The filmmaker stressed the importance of thorough preparation, emphasising that these projects are still in the early stages. “First, we will write for 1-2 years, and then it should be made. I think the possibility of 2 Idiots and Munna Bhai 3 is there soon,” he added.
The original 3 Idiots, directed by Rajkumar Hirani and starring Aamir Khan, R Madhavan, and Sharman Joshi, became a cultural phenomenon upon its release in 2009. Similarly, the Munna Bhai series, with Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi in the lead, has remained a fan favourite since its debut in 2003.
