After four years of courtship, the couple decided to tie the knot.

Virat and Anushka got married at the picturesque Borgo Finocchieto resort in Italy, away from the media glare.

Their marriage was solemnised by Anushka's family priest, Maharaj Anant Baba of Anant Dham Atmabodh Ashram in Haridwar.

After tying the knot, Virat and Anushka announced the happy news with breathtaking pictures from their wedding.

"Today we have promised each other to be bound in love forever. We are truly blessed to share the news with you. This beautiful day will be made more special with the love and support of our family of fans & well wishers. Thank you for being such an important part of our journey," Virat and Anushka wrote, along with the pictures.

After a short honeymoon in Finland, Virat and Anushka hosted a lavish reception at the Taj Diplomatic Enclave in Delhi on December 22.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was a part of the festivities in Delhi.

On December 26, Virat and Anushka hosted a star-studded reception at St Regis hotel in Mumbai, which was attended by the who's who of Bollywood.
