Lokesh Kanagaraj, Thaman meet Chief Minister Vijay after election win

Leo director Lokesh Kanagaraj on Tuesday shared pictures from his latest meeting with the newly elected Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay. The filmmaker wished the actor-turned-politician a successful tenure. Their meeting comes weeks after Vijay's political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), registered a landslide victory in the Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections.

Lokesh shared pictures from the meeting, and they are now being circulated widely on social media. Sharing the photos, he wrote, "Honorable Chief Minister @CMOTamilnadu. Congratulations Anna (sic)."

On Monday, composer Thaman, who worked with Vijay on Varisu, also met him. Sharing photos on X, he wrote, "With Our TamilNadu Chief Minister @CMOTamilnadu @actorvijay anna. Anna is shining bright. Shared the Happiness and the Musical Bonding We love".

More film personalities call on Vijay

Lokesh has joined a growing list of film personalities who have met Vijay after he became Chief Minister. Earlier, filmmakers AR Murugadoss and Venkat Prabhu called on him and greeted him. Venkat Prabhu presented a number plate, TN-07-CM-2026, from their 2024 spy thriller GOAT, a reference to Vijay's political aspirations at that time.

Representatives of the Tamil Film Producers Council and the Tamil Film Active Producers Association also met Vijay. Actors Arjun and Shanthnu had visited him last week to convey their wishes.

Lokesh's recent and upcoming films

Lokesh Kanagaraj directed Leo, the 2023 film starring Vijay in the lead. The film also featured Sanjay Dutt, Arjun, Trisha, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Mysskin, Madonna Sebastian, George Maryan, Mansoor Ali Khan, Priya Anand and Mathew Thomas, and was a commercial success at the box office.

The director last made Coolie, with Rajinikanth in the lead. It starred Nagarjuna as the antagonist. Soubin Shahir, Upendra, Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj and Rachita Ram were also part of the cast, which also featured Aamir Khan and Pooja Hegde in special appearances. Lokesh is currently working with Allu Arjun on the untitled AA23.
