Vijay alleges conspiracy in Jana Nayagan delay and Karur tragedy: I need justice
Actor Vijay, while addressing a public meeting in Trichy, alleged conspiracy behind the Jana Nayagan hold-up and Karur stampede tragedy. He said that he's not only fighting for people's justice but also for himself.

Actor and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief Vijay filed his nomination for the upcoming Tamil Nadu elections in Trichy on Thursday. After submitting his nomination, he addressed the crowd and raised concerns about a conspiracy involving the delay of his final film, Jana Nayagan, and the Karur stampede that claimed over 40 lives.
Speaking to supporters, Vijay alleged that various parties had united to oppose him, linking the postponement of Jana Nayagan’s release and the Karur tragedy as part of this conspiracy.
He said, "I don’t need to tell you how all the parties have come together to oppose your Vijay. As many said, the conspiracy around the Karur incident, and the fact that my final film Jana Nayagan could not be released. What if it made our close-to-heart relationship even stronger? And what if that film became a powerful weapon in the elections? As a brother, son, as your Vijay, I am fighting for your justice. I need justice as well.”

Vijay reiterated that he had given up a life of luxury to stand with the people. He emphasised that his political journey was driven by gratitude and willingness to endure hardships for the public. He posed a direct choice to voters between himself and the current Chief Minister, MK Stalin (representing DMK), characterising the election as a contest between working for the people and working against them.
The actor also criticised the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) government, labelling it an ‘evil force’ and urged voters to remove it from power in the assembly elections. Vijay is contesting for the first time through his party, TVK, standing as a candidate in Perambur and Trichy East constituencies.
Jana Nayagan, directed by H Vinoth, was initially scheduled for release on January 9, coinciding with Pongal, as a final gift to Vijay’s fans before his political debut. The film’s release was postponed because of certification delays by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and it is now sitting with the revising committee. The legal arguments in court cited potential losses exceeding Rs 100 crore due to the delay,
The film stars Mamitha Baiju, Pooja Hegde and Bobby Deol, and is reported to be an adaptation of Anil Ravipudi’s Bhagavanth Kesari.
Vijay’s comments linked the delay of Jana Nayagan and the Karur stampede as part of a broader conspiracy against him, highlighting his call for justice. The actor’s entry into politics and his electoral campaign remain closely watched developments in Tamil Nadu.
