Days after a scene from the 2024 film GOAT went viral for what many saw as a hint at Vijay’s Chief Ministerial ambitions, director Venkat Prabhu and actor Premgi Amaren have now reacted to the clip, adding to the online buzz.

Interestingly, the ‘CM’ referenced on the vehicle’s number plate in the film has now turned into reality, with the 51-year-old actor-politician to take oath as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu on May 8. The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai.

The clip, now widely circulating on social media, shows Vijay driving a vehicle with the number plate ‘TN 07 CM 2026’– a detail that has sparked speculation and online chatter in the wake of TVK (Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam)’s electoral debut in Tamil Nadu.

Joining the conversation, Premgi shared a meme from the scene and wrote, “Hi it’s me sitting next to our CM in the car (sic).” He had earlier posted the clip as well, drawing attention to the number plate with the caption, “Check out the car number (sic).”

Venkat Prabhu, who directed the film, also reacted by re-sharing the clip with a brief “Heehehehe” and laughing emojis.

The moment being discussed comes from GOAT, where the vehicle driven by Vijay prominently displays the now-viral registration number. While the detail received attention at the time of the film’s release, it has now regained traction amid recent political developments.

The renewed buzz follows TVK’s strong showing in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, where the party emerged as the single largest force, winning 108 of the state’s 234 seats.

The outcome has led many on social media to revisit the film and interpret the number plate as a possible nod to Vijay’s political trajectory.

GOAT released months after Vijay launched Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam in February 2024, at a time when speculation was already building around his potential political plans.

In that context, the ‘TN 07 CM 2026’ detail is now being read by some as a symbolic or coincidental reference to the 2026 Assembly elections.

On a separate note, Vijay’s next film, Jana Nayagan, is yet to receive a confirmed release date, though there is speculation around an August 2026 release.
