Details of Saif-Kareena wedding

The wedding festivities of Bollywood actors Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan have already begun and the couple will reportedly exchange wedding vows in a private affair on October 16, 2012.

After a sangeet ceremony on October 14, 2012 at Kareena's Bandra residence, the Kapoors and the Khans geared up for the mehndi ceremony on October 15, 2012.

According to sources, the couple will have a registered marriage on October 16, 2012 in the afternoon, which will be attended only by close friends and family members.

Designer Raghavendra Rathore has created a Benarasi brocade 'achkan' for the actor's wedding with inputs from the groom and references from attires and styles of Saif's late father, Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi.

The traditional joda that was first worn by Begum Sajida Sultan of Bhopal at her own wedding in 1939, was then gifted to her daughter-in-law Sharmila Tagore to wear on her wedding. And, it has now been recreated in the likeness of the original ensemble by ace designer Ritu Kumar for the delicate bride Kareena Kapoor.

The guests at the wedding of Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor will have a variety of paans(betel leaves) to choose from to titillate their taste buds. A paan shop in Jaipur has been especially ordered to supply the age-old mouth freshener at the wedding on October 16, 2012.

The bride-to-be is expected to don a necklace designed by traditional wedding jewellery designers, Kruti Jewellers, from Rajkot. Kareena's wedding jewellery has been crafted of gold embellished with precious diamonds and stones.

However, the celebrations do not end with that. Saif-Kareena will have their nikaah ceremony on October 17 at Saif's ancestral home Pataudi Palace in Haryana.

The formal wedding card has already been sent and according to sources, only 60 guests are invited for the main ceremony.

After the registered marriage in Mumbai, the couple will host a grand reception in Delhi on October 18, 2012.

Kareena Kapoor will soon have best of both the worlds with Kapoor and Khan, the most illustrious surnames in Bollywood suffixing her name. And, reportedly Aamir Khan-starrer Talaash, which stars Kareena, will be the first film to have her new name in the opening credits.
