7 Indians Obama referred to in his Siri Fort address

US President Barack Obama on Tuesday quoted in broken Hindi the famous line from Aditya Chopra's Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge in his last address at a townhall in New Delhi. "Senorita, bade bade deshon mein... or something like this. You know that," he said to a loud cheer at the Siri Fort auditorium filled with students and activists.

India takes pride in people like Milkha Singh, Mary Kom, Kailash Satyarthi, no dearth of talent in India : President Obama.

Obama said India would succeed "so long as Indians go to the movies and applaud an actor like Shah Rukh Khan or an athlete like Milkha Singh."

Obama paid tribute to the women of India and even referred to Wing Commander Puja Thakur who led him in Guard of Honour. He said it's a sign of great pride and strength.

When Martin Luther King Jr. was protesting racial segregation in America he said his "guiding light" was Mahatma Gandhi: Obama.

More than a hundred years ago America welcomed a son of India-Swami Vivekananda who brought Yoga to US, Obama said.

He recalled Swami Vivekananda and his speech in Chicago where he addressed the gathering as "Sisters and brothers of America" and said he is going to address the audience likewise, and said "Sisters and brothers of India", and repeated it again in the middle of the speech.

On his first visit, Obama had met Vishal Tomar,16, when he had visited Humayun's Tomb. Vishal works as a labourer but wants to join the army. Obama said "We met some of the labourers who are the backbone of this nation's progress".
