Covid-19 scare in Ayodhya: Will Ram Mandir's bhoomi pujan be impacted?

A big Covid-19 scare in Ayodhya. Six days before Ram Mandir's bhoomi pujan, a priest and 16 policemen posted at the site have tested positive for coronavirus. They were tested positive during rapid antigen tests and their RT-PCR test results have yet come.

The incident comes ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's expected visit to lay the foundation stone for the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on August 5. Apart from PM Modi, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, several veteran BJP leaders, including LK Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, Uma Bharti and Kalyan Singh, are expected to attend the ceremony.

But, now the question is, will the bhoomi pujan be impacted?
Will there be a change in the schedule?
And, could bhoomi pujan ceremony be scaled down?

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday hugged and honoured 98-year-old Makhanlal Sarkar, one of the earliest and senior most members of the BJP. The scene unfolded on the stage ahead of Suvendu Adhikari's swearing-in as West Bengal's Chief Minister in Kolkata. PM Modi also touched Sarkar's feet and presented a shawl to him as a mark of respect. In 1952, Sarkar was arrested in Kashmir while he was accompanying Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee as the latter was marching to hoist the tricolour there. BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya described the elderly party leader as "one of the earliest grassroots figures associated with the nationalist movement in post-Independence India."
