Trump once again offers to help India-Pakistan, SIT opens case against Kamal Nath, more

US President Donald Trump has again offered to help India and Pakistan despite a meeting between Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi last month in which both the world leaders agreed that Kashmir was a bilateral matter between the two countries with no scope for third party mediation. Speaking to reporters at the White House, Donald Trump said, "I am willing to help them if they want. They know that. That (offer) is out there."

Also, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath will face fresh inquiry in his alleged involvement in the 1984 riots against Sikh in the aftermath of Indira Gandhi assassination in New Delhi. A special investigation team, set up by the Union Home Ministry, has decided to reopen seven anti-Sikh riot cases, where the accused were either acquitted or the trial closed, according to official notification. The reopened cases include a case against the Madhya Pradesh CM. The SIT is likely to consider fresh evidence against the veteran Congress leader.
