India, China hold border management talks; Cyclone Montha wreaks havoc

China’s Defence Ministry said on Wednesday that Chinese and Indian militaries held “active and in-depth” talks on managing the western section of their border, according to Reuters. The meeting took place on October 25 at the Moldo-Chushul border point on the Indian side. Both sides agreed to maintain regular communication and dialogue through military and diplomatic channels.

Cyclone Montha battered coastal Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday evening, unleashing heavy rains and fierce winds that caused widespread devastation. In Konaseema district, a woman died after a tree collapsed on her house. Torrential rains flooded roads, uprooted trees, and displaced thousands across southern Andhra and parts of Odisha.
