JNU protest over fee hike enters day 8, Maharashtra logjam continues; more 

The national capital remained on edge on Monday as hundreds of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) students gathered to march towards Parliament demanding a complete rollback of the hostel fee hike. With this, the protest has now entered day 8.

While on the political front, Maharashtra's political impasse continued on Monday after NCP patriarch Sharad Pawar said that he did not discuss anything about the government formation in the state during his meeting with Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi. For more, watch this video.

Video: Vijay takes oath as Tamil Nadu CM amid loud cheers and chants

TVK leader C Joseph Vijay on Sunday took oath as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu amid a sea of supporters, his friends and family, and several political leaders. Eight other TVK leaders were sworn in besides him, as ministers in the new government. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also attended the ceremony. The TVK managed to secure the Governor's nod to form the government after the Congress, the CPI, the CPI(M), the VCK, and IUML extended their support to the Vijay-led party for a colaition government.
